CITY GUIDE: NASHVILLE

Nashville has become one of the hottest cities to travel to recently, and for good reason. Whether there with friends for a birthday, bachelorette party, or a getaway, there are endless options for new adventures and a ton of fun. Here are the top spots to go to, and what you should pack for your strut around this booming city:

Drink:

While you may go into the night thinking you have a plan, be prepared to completely stray from it. Broadway is lined with bar after bar, and as you walk through the strip you find bars along the way that you may want to stop into instead of what you had in mind. Plus, the lines can get long, which has a huge impact on where you end up. What makes bars in Nashville so unique is the live music; it is very rare that they have a DJ. The live bands play a variety of country songs, new and old, and it is so much fun to sing, dance, and laugh along with the rest of the crowd. Here are some of my favorite bars that I visited:

Casa Rosa: One thing about me is: I’m a sucker for cute, pink decor. Casa Rosa is Miranda Lambert’s bar and it is decorated super cute and girly. There’s a pink flower wall with pink neon lighting, which makes it perfect for photos and girl groups. They have a rooftop bar that opens up at night, and depending on the night, plays live music or has a DJ. If you go, definitely try out their frozen alcoholic lemonade!

Layer Cake: Think NYC-meets-Nashville: Layer Cake is very similar to a NYC club. The rooftop is where the magic happens:, with a birds-eye view of the city, enjoy the DJ and incredible vibes.

Jason Aldean’s: An absolute must-visit, Jason Aldean’s is one of the most well-known bars in Nashville, and for good reason. There are multiple levels all with different vibes. The lower levels are great for sitting down at the bar for more of a low-key visit, and the upper levels and rooftop are exceptional for the nights you want to get into party-mode. This is another rooftop that has incredible views and great drinks, and fantastic live music.

Coyote Ugly: Speaking of getting into party-mode, you MUST go to the iconic Coyote Ugly. This experience is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The women who bartend are fun, personable, and are amazing entertainers. It is tradition for patrons to join the women up on the bar to dance if they dare, which I did! Of course, I had to get a shirt that read “I danced on the bar at Coyote Ugly,” to remember my visit.

Blanco Cocina + Tequila: Perfect for tequila lovers like my friends and I, Blanco is a great day spot to enjoy delicious tequila cocktails. They have a wide variety of cocktails and tequilas to choose from, and the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. I had a Paloma Rosa, which was super refreshing after a morning of souvenir shopping.

Tin Roof: Sometimes you need a casual bar, and that’s exactly what Tin Roof is. While it’s casual, that doesn’t mean that it falls short when it comes to a good time! Tin Roof is perfect for those nights where you may not want to get super done-up and just want to have a few drinks. Make sure to check out their specialty drink menu, which is full of crazy, unique drink creations.

Fashion:

Dressing up for nights on the town is half of the fun! While most of the attire was more on the casual-side, there were plenty of people who went all out. One thing that remained constant was, of course, cowboy boots. Besides the fact that we were down south, cowboy boots are also trending footwear for fall. I chose a white, ankle-length heeled version to match my personal style. From bedazzled, to bright, to neutral colors, there is a pair of cowboy boots out there to match your personal style. No matter what you choose, make sure your footwear is COMFY because you do a TON of walking.

Since Nashville is a hotspot for bachelorette parties, there is always a ton of pink throughout restaurants, bars, and hotels. As someone who LOVES pink, I was in heaven! Anything pink, sparkly, and girly is a “yes!” Accessorize with cute sunnies and jewelry, and you’re golden.

Throughout our three-night stay, I switched up the vibes of my outfits.  During the day I wore denim shorts with cute tops, or flouncy dresses with sneakers. At night, I wore skirt-sets, or, for the more casual nights, flared jeans and bodysuits and my boots.

There is a way to embrace Nashville without looking cheesy: I would say pick and choose certain items to make them more wearable and less costume-like. However, just have fun! Nashville nights are “go, go, go!” and your outfit will be the least of your concerns.
