GLOWY SUMMER MAKEUP

While many of us have at some point fallen victim to the matte-makeup trend, nowadays, it’s all about the glow– even more so in the summer months. Wearing glowy makeup in the summer is an ethereal experience; The summer sun strikes shimmering products beautifully, unlocking your inner sun goddess. Here are the essential products you need to achieve the look:

1: BASE

A heavier foundation is more noticeable in direct sunlight. Look for products that are thin in consistency when it comes to your base. Products such as tinted moisturizers or BB/CC creams are usually formulated to be thinner in consistency while maintaining good coverage for anything you want to mask, like redness or discoloration. For the ultimate summer skin, drop a few strokes of highlighter under your choice of base. This will give your skin a subtle, blurring, glowy look.

Think about where the sun would naturally tan your face (forehead, cheekbones, chin, nose) and sweep some bronzer across those areas. Lightly tap in a blush (bonus points if it contains shimmer) that compliments your skin tone over these areas as well to look extra sunkissed.

If you have oily skin, only apply powder to areas that tend to get shiny throughout the day. Using an illuminating powder will keep your makeup set without being too mattifying.

2: EYES

Placing a highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes is essential for summer makeup. The highlighter will brighten your eyes and draw attention to them best, so don’t be afraid to pack on a little more than usual! You can also carry your highlighter across your eyelids, under your brow, and at the beginning of your lower lash line.

Apply a bit of bronzer into the crease of your eye. This will give you sultry-looking eyes while not looking too overdone.

3: LIPS

Lighter, more nude lip shades tend to make skin look more tanned. Apply your favorite shade followed by a gloss. Pro tip: pop a bit of highlighter onto your cupid’s bow for a glowing pout!
