SAN DIEGO

California is a dream destination for many people. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Napa Valley, and San Diego, an often overlooked locations. San Diego is known as the Golden State which fits well for its gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and for its amazing weather and is home to many beaches. It is also best known for being a tourist destination with many beautiful places to visit.

There are so many amazing locations to choose from when making a trip to San Diego and I’ve collected some of its hidden gems that you have to check out!

Cactus Garden at Balboa Park

If you’re looking for a unique and aesthetically pleasing place to take photos, Cactus Garden is just that. If you’re from the East Coast, It’s very rare to see a cactus up close and that’s what makes this place so beautiful and a perfect photo op. Behind the Cactus Garden, you can catch a glimpse of a cathedral, which you can also explore as part of your escape.

Balboa Park is not only home to the Cactus Garden, but it offers many other things to do, such as, playgrounds, museums, trails, performing arts, and even more gardens! And if you’re a local they offer resident-free days, which means if you live in the city and county surrounding this park there are specific days you can get in for free!

Cannonball

The name Cannonball is a bit misleading: It’s actually a seaside bar! So if you’re looking for a place to enjoy a cocktail, or have some sushi with a scenic view, (and without getting sand everywhere) Cannonball is the place to go! Bring along your favorite pair of sunglasses and a bikini and enjoy a relaxing day or evening seaside! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try.

Spruce Street Suspension Bridge

If you’re somewhat of a thrill seeker, you have to visit the Spruce Street Suspension Bridge. It’s 70 ft above the Sessions Canyon, and offers a pretty amazing view below. Although it doesn’t sound too thrilling, the bridge rocks back and forth with the wind, so be prepared!
