TIME FOR SKIN
Skincare is something that is vital to our well-being, both physically and mentally. One of my favorite times to do my skincare routine is at night, right before bed. The reason I love completing my skincare routine at night is that it helps me to feel relaxed. Caring and loving my skin soothes me and helps me prepare for the next day ahead.
My nighttime skincare routine typically involves cleansing my face, using a facial toner, then using a PM moisturizer or sleep mask. I begin by removing my makeup with micellar water. After all my makeup is off, I cleanse my face and neck with my favorite cleanser, which makes my skin and soul feel refreshed. After rinsing the cleanser from my face and neck, I feel that I have washed the day away and am inching my way to a good night’s sleep. I then apply my facial toner to cleansed and dry skin to help tighten pores. While I wait for the toner to settle on my skin, I brush and floss my teeth while deciding whether to use a sleep mask or a nighttime moisturizer. Some nights I apply a sleep mask on my face and a lip mask to care for my skin while I sleep. On alternative nights, I apply an overnight moisturizer. These steps help me to mentally and physically relax in bed while caring for my skin.
