WEDDING TRENDS

2022 has been the year of weddings! But with a little twist to it. Millions are getting married worldwide in extravagant venues and in beautiful dresses, but the trend nowadays is to prepare three outfits, including three dresses with three different shoes. One dress for the ceremony, another for the actual wedding, and one to change into for the dancing bit.

A few weeks ago, I attended a glamorous and laid-back wedding in London, United Kingdom, where the couple lives. There was a separate ceremony on Friday where the marriage officiant married the couple with just family in the room. The soon-to-be bride wore a beautiful white dress cropped with long sleeves with ruffles that stopped before her wrists. The front of the dress was open appropriately with three cutouts. The dress reached all the way to her ankles, so you could see her lovely black heels. But this was the only dress number one to be shown to the world.

The second dress was for the actual wedding, where the bride will walk down the aisle. This was the dress that everyone will remember. It was a different kind of dress that you may not consider yourself ever wearing. It was a lovely silk dress that almost looked like a skirt with a cropped top, but the back had the two tied together. So technically, it was still a dress! It was basic, simple but elegant. She wore beautiful white heels with rhinestones at the tippy top of her shoe.

After the couple was finally official, she changed into another dress. This third dress was not traditional at weddings, but the bride decided to go out of her comfort zone and change it! She wore a strapless light blue/purple dress that reached her ankles. She threw on a pair of Air Force Nikes and said it’s time to dance! She gathered the crowd after changing again, and now the party had just begun. This different color within a wedding dress was taken to a new level, and the bride looked ravishing.

Clearly, having 3 wedding dresses is a new trend but also a good backup in case anything bad happens to one of the dresses! It is a way for the bride to receive extra attention, separates the three major events, is exciting to look at, and makes the event more glamorous! We are here for these extra wedding shenanigans.
